My Angels
In a beautiful place with blue skies and sunshine and love all around, A peaceful place where everyone knew each other and always had a smile on their face. Here, it didn't matter what color you were or where you were from. Everyone just loved each other, the way their Father loved them. This place was called "Heaven." Some who resided here had once lived upon the Earth and others were waiting here, yet to be born. Most of the ones who had already lived upon the earth were waiting for loved ones to join them. They had a special window to the world, where they kept watch over those left behind.
This is the story of four little angels (1 boy & 3 girls) who were waiting to be born. They were special friends and had been together as long as they could remember. These four little angels did everything together. They played in the fields, they danced around the clouds, they spent a lot of time with the animals... dogs, cats, birds, mice etc. All the animals here loved each other too, you see. The four little angels were very happy here in Heaven, but yet still a
            little anxious to be born.
"I wonder what our life will be like on earth?" said one."I think the most important thing is that we trust in Our Father, whether we have a good life or one crossed with many obstacles." said the oldest of the four. "What kind of obstacles?" said another. "We could be born with a handicap, or become handicapped during our lives.Getting through those hardships make a person special. We could be born into a life of hatred or abuse, a life filled
with alcohol or drugs. So many things, both good and bad, could happen to us during our life on earth," said the eldest.
"How long will we be on earth?" said the boy angel. "It could be 1 minute or over 100 years. We may not even make it until the actual birth. Our Father will make that decision. He alone knows the purpose for our lives." "Will we remember being here together?"  "I doubt it...I don't think we take any of our memories with us." "You mean...we won't know each other there?"
This made the four little angels a bit sad, as they had always wanted to stay together. They became even more inseparable, wanting to be together as much as possible before time for them to leave.
One day, the Father came to them and told the oldest of the little angels, that she would soon be born. He said he knew how close they were and He had made special plans for them. The oldest would become the mother of the other three. They would all be together on Earth.
This made the little angels so very happy. "But, how will we know each other
since we don't take our memories with us?" God told them to choose a special birthdate...He would decide the years but they could choose their month and day. Something that would give them a clue that they had been together here.
"But, how will we know it's a clue?" said the eldest. "You won't know at first. Some event in your lives will let you see it!" God said.

So, the four little angels sat together, trying to decide the special days to choose. They thought about all being born on a holiday, they thought about each choosing the same months and days, they thought about the different
seasons. Finally they all decided to choose an odd numbered month, then double that number for the day. For instance, 1st month with 2nd day or 7th month with 14th day etc. They figured the odds of that happening with the mother and all three of her children would be very rare indeed.
            And so it was!!!
The eldest little angel was born November 22, 1951..(11/22) She was named, Brenda Kay. She had many obstacles thrown in her path. An alcoholic father, a step-father who molested her. Moving from place to place and never having time to make any friends. By the time she was 16, she only wanted one thing in life.
She wanted someone to love and need her. So, she had her first child. The 2nd little angel was born September 18, 1968..(9/18) She was named Tanya Marlene. But Brenda's husband was an alcoholic and she couldn't live that way. they were divorced. She married her second husband at the age of 17 years.Brenda had her next child.
The 3rd little angel was born May 10, 1970..(5/10) She was named Michelle Lucille. Things went along okay but Brenda felt she needed one more baby. She thought three children would be ideal. So, she had her next child.
The 4th little angel was born March 6th, 1972..(3/6) He was named Charles VanDorn. But a few years later, Brenda discovered that this husband was sexually abusing the children. She divorced again. Now here she is, 25 years old with 3 little children. So she went back to school, got her High School Diploma and went on to become an EMT and Dispatcher.
There were still many hardships in their lives, but they stayed very close. There was never a problem with communication. They talked to each other all the time. Brenda and the girls shared clothes when they got older. They would all sit at the dinner table and talk for hours on many different subjects.
Brenda remarried in 1988, she lost her real father 3 weeks later. (She had just started getting to know him). Tanya suffered from Bulemia and manic-depression. She was such a wonderful person who loved everyone but herself. She took her own life August 26th, 1990. Michelle missed Tanya so very much, that she too became depressed and took an overdose of pills. Michelle died February 28,1991, just 6 short months after Tanya left us. During their lives, the girls had helped
and loved many people. Before Michelle died, she wrote "Mom....look at our birthdates! I know now that it's a clue for us....We've been together before and will be again. Tanya and I will be waiting for you and Chuck."

Two have gone and two have stayed. The day will come when Charles and I will cross the bridge and we will be "Four little Angels" together again!

Tanya and Michelle lighting the way!
